Lions Rock Rapids is a short 10-minute drive from the nearby town of Hazyview in Mpumalanga, and an approximate 4,5hrs drive from Johannesburg. The lodge is ideally located in close proximity to The Kruger National Park, with the closest entrance via Phabeni Gate – a 20-minute drive away.

Relax by your private splash pool, while taking in the magnificent views of the Sabie River Valley or in the soothing waters of the en-suite jacuzzi, both of which are equipped in each suite. Delectable breakfasts await you at our restaurant overlooking the rushing rapids of the Sabie River and are included in the rate. Days can be spent in the natural beauty of our grounds, fishing and tubing in the river or you can enjoy adventurous day trips in the surrounding area. After a lovely day, evenings can be savoured around your outdoor braai with an excellent bottle of chilled champagne from our bar or at our restaurant overlooking the river (subject to availability). Unwinding around the Boma fire on our very own river sand beach is also a firm favourite or in our open-air lounge and bar area. Lions Rock Rapids is situated on the banks of the iconic Sabie River, a quick 10 minute drive from the nearby town of Hazyview and an approximate 4,5hrs drive from Johannesburg. The lodge is ideally located in close proximity to The Kruger National Park, with the closest entrance via Phabeni Gate – a 20 minute drive away. Days can be spent in the natural beauty of our grounds where you can immerse yourself in the wonder of the river rapids from our beach area and along the riverbanks or take a relaxing dip in the swimming pool.  You may also opt to sit-back in the comfort of  your tents’ covered deck, simply absorbing the sights and sounds of the Sabie River Valley.  Fishing and tubing in the river are also firm favourites or you can enjoy adventurous day trips in the surrounding area.
